Zabiha, verified. Not just "halal-friendly."
Plenty of menus say halal. Far fewer can tell you where the meat was slaughtered, by whom, and under which certification. Zabiha Halals is a city-by-city guide that lists only restaurants, butchers, and groceries serving hand-slaughtered zabiha — and tells you how each one sources it.
What counts as zabiha here
Every listing answers the questions you'd ask the owner.
Before a spot appears in this guide, we record how it answers four sourcing questions — the same ones a careful eater asks at the counter. The answers are published on the listing, so you can apply your own standard, whether you follow hand-slaughtered only, a specific certifier, or your local imam's guidance.
We don't sell placement. A listing can't pay to appear zabiha; it either documents its sourcing or it isn't listed.
- Source of meat Which supplier or farm, and whether beef, chicken, lamb, and goat differ.
- Method Hand-slaughtered (zabiha) or machine — stated per protein, not per menu.
- Certification Certifier name and document date, when one exists.
- Kitchen handling Whether non-zabiha items share fryers, grills, or prep areas.
City guides
Opening city by city.
We're building each city guide with local eaters, masjid communities, and the restaurants themselves. Chicago is first — it's home. Join a city's waitlist and we'll tell you when its guide opens.
No paid rankings, ever. Cities open when their first ten listings have documented sourcing — not before.
